FACE-TO-FACE WILTON

A cut-pile carpet, where warp and weft yarns are woven by machine and intertwined so that the warp yarns come forward to create the pile, and the weft yarns stay buried to create the backing.

WILTON WOVEN

The pile is created by weaving yarns around a series of wires, while the loop is created by leaving the yarn intact. Most styles are crafted with 2-5 colours.

HAND-TUFTED

A technique where yarn is inserted into a pre-woven backing with a hand tool and glued in place, which is ideal for creating multiple textures and using multiple colours.

HAND-KNOTTED

A durable technique where yarns are knotted around pairs of warps, then tied off and cut to the desired pile heights. Various types of knots allow for a wide variety of looks.

AXMINSTER

One of the oldest machine weaving techniques, where pile yarns are anchored by stiff jute weft yarns. Surface yarns are finished and cut to an even level for high durability, making it a great choice for hospitality projects.

MACHINE-TUFTED

A technique where needles are machine-stitched through rows of pile yarn on a primary backing, which are held in place by a loop to form the tuft. These styles can have either a cut or loop finish.

A machine-woven warp and weft yarns intertwined, so that the warp yarns come forward to create the pile and stay buried to create the backing of the carpet.
